Mother’s Day is celebrated across the world to recognize mothers, motherhood and maternal bonds in general, as well as the positive contributions that they make to towards the society. It is usually celebrated on the second Sunday in May.
One of the early calls to celebrate Mother’s Day in the United States was the ‘Mother’s Day Proclamation’ by Julia Ward Howe in 1870. Even though the month and date on which Mother’s Day is celebrated is different in every country, the idea is to pay tribute to mothers for all their love and support and to make them feel special.
