The International Day of Families takes place on May 15 every year and has been celebrated since 1995. It’s an occasion to celebrate the importance of families, people, societies and cultures around the world. This year it’s the 20th Anniversary of the International Family Day.
Today families are considered an essential unit of the society and this special day is celebrated to promote national and international awareness of issues related to families. The programmes undertaken on this day look at strengthening public efforts for supporting families who are confronted with various economic, social and cultural issues.
