
International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on 8 March. On this day, the economic, political and social achievements of women are highlighted and looked upon as inspirational stories that can help guide other women to greater heights.
The theme last year was “Equal access to education, training, science and technology: Pathway to decent work for women.” On this day a lot of activities revolving around women take the spotlight as rallies are held, issues related to women’s rights are discussed and films with women centric themes are screened.
A lot of initiatives have been undertaken that have lead to empowerment of women around the world. Still, a lot more needs to be done and there’s a long way to go.
