Shubh Ganesh Chaturthi!

This is one of the biggest festivals in the Hindu calendar. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in honor of Lord Ganesha – The God of wisdom. It is believed that Lord Ganesha, son of Shiva and Parvati showers his blessings on devotees on this day.

Preparations for this 11-day festival begin when Lord Ganesh’s idols are brought home. Mandaps are beautifully adorned with flowers and gold ornaments and have devotees walking in. Offerings are also placed in front of Lord Ganesh’s idol. At the time of Visarjan (immersion of the Ganesh idols), devotees sing and dance to devotional songs and chant “Ganpati Bappa Moriya, Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar yaa” (Oh Lord, return soon next year)

May you find the right life partner with Lord Ganesha’s blessings. Shubh Ganesh Chaturthi!
